If you haven’t heard of Invisalign braces by now, we would be surprised. Since they were introduced to the public in 2000, they have quickly become the preferred solution for crooked teeth.
Invisalign invisible braces have some distinct advantages over standard braces that make them the choice of a majority of people with crooked teeth. First, they are removable. Standard braces come with a list of foods that are nearly impossible to eat with braces and even more impossible to clean if you do try to eat them.
Invisalign braces can be removed when you want to eat or brush your teeth. They can also be removed for dating or making any public appearance where you don’t want braces to be in. Sometimes, though, it’s almost unnecessary, as they really aren’t that easy to spot under normal circumstances.
Invisalign treatment take a little longer than standard braces. In addition, they need to be swapped out on a regular basis as the straightening is done in stages. The great news is that you don’t need to go back to the dentist nearly as often as you would with standard braces.
Invisalign invisible braces were created using cutting edge technologies known as SmartForce and SmartTrack. These technologies allow Invisalign to straighten your teeth in a manner that is more comfortable and predictable.
Invisalign Braces aren’t for Everyone
Sadly, there are some situations where the Invisalign System simply won’t work for you. If your teeth are displaced vertically, they won’t fit. We have to measure the displacement of your teeth because sometimes the displacement is too large for such braces.
We give you a full oral exam, including x-rays and impressions of your teeth. Then, we make a treatment plan for you. The impressions, x-rays and plan are used to make custom Invisalign invisible braces to fit your mouth. We send the info out to Invisalign and your aligners are shipped to us as soon as they are finished.
We usually give you three or four sets of aligners at a time and you replace them every two weeks.
