What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers cover your natural tooth, and is made from a thin tooth coloured material.
Why do I Need Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are used for a variety of reasons, such as permanently masking stained teeth, closing gaps between your teeth (diastemas), aligning teeth, and improving the look of your teeth due to damage or decay.
The Veneer Treatment Process
The treatment of a porcelain veneer is normally conducted over two simple appointments.
In the first appointment your dentist will explain the process and answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Each smile is different so it is important that we completely understand your personal needs.
In this appointment your dentist will take a tooth enamel sample from you, and will also create a a ‘wax up’ of your teeth. This impression (or mould) is then sent off to the dental laboratory and a cast of your teeth will be made.
It is from this mould that dental wax is applied, and you now have the opportunity to see how a veneer would look in your teeth.
When you are happy with how the porcelain veneer looks on the wax model, you would then return for a second appointment to have the veneer fitted by your dentist.
If you would like to know more about having a porcelain veneer fitted, then fill in the form or call us today on(08) 9404 9500 and one of our dental experts will organise an appointment for you.
